Mold Remediation After Improper Drying or Excess Moisture

Had a water problem that got ‘dried out’ with a couple of fans? If mold showed up afterward, it wasn’t dry. We fix it properly this time.

Mold Is What Happens When Drying Gets Cut Short

We see this one a lot. A basement floods, a pipe leaks, a washing machine overflows. Somebody mops it up, runs a box fan for a weekend, and calls it done. Three weeks later there’s a smell, and a month after that there’s black growth climbing the bottom of the drywall.
Wet building materials need controlled drying with commercial dehumidifiers and daily moisture readings. Without that, water stays in the subfloor, the sill plate, and the back of the drywall, and mold gets exactly what it needs. Quick Response Restoration remediates this kind of mold across Saratoga County and the Capital Region, and then dries the structure the way it should have been dried the first time. The same thing happens with chronically damp spaces: a basement with high humidity, a crawl space with no vapor barrier, a bathroom with no working fan. Moisture doesn’t have to be a flood to grow mold.

Our Restoration Process

Assess the Moisture and Mold

We measure moisture in the framing, subfloor, and drywall and map how far the mold has spread.

Remediate Under Containment

Contaminated materials are removed, surfaces cleaned and treated, and spores kept from spreading.

Dry It Right

Commercial dehumidifiers and air movers run under daily monitoring until every reading is where it should be.

How We Correct a Bad Drying Job

The inspection tells us what a fan can’t. We check moisture in the materials themselves, not just the air, and look behind baseboards and under flooring where trapped water hides. Then we set up containment and negative air.
Moldy drywall, insulation, and flooring come out. Framing and concrete are cleaned and treated. Drying equipment goes in and stays until moisture readings return to normal for that material, which is a number, not a guess. Our reconstruction crews rebuild once it’s done.If the space is chronically damp, we’ll tell you what’s driving it and what to do about it. And we handle the insurance side, documentation and billing both.
