HVAC & Condensation Mold Remediation

Musty smell every time the AC kicks on? Mold is likely growing in the system or around it. We clean it up and stop the moisture that caused it.
Water Damage

When Your HVAC System Spreads the Problem

Air conditioning pulls a lot of water out of the air, and all of it has to go somewhere. When a condensate line clogs, a drain pan cracks, or ductwork sweats in a humid basement, that water sits, and mold follows. The trouble with HVAC mold is that the system then blows spores into every room in the house.
Quick Response Restoration remediates HVAC and condensation-related mold for homes and commercial buildings across the Capital Region. We’re a licensed New York mold contractor, and we’ve dealt with everything from a moldy air handler closet to duct runs coated on the inside. If someone in the house has allergies or asthma that flare up when the system runs, that’s a strong hint. So is a sweet, musty smell at the registers or visible growth around the air handler, on the ceiling below it, or on cold ductwork in the basement.

Our Restoration Process

Find the Moisture Source

We trace condensation, drainage failures, and duct sweating to figure out why the mold is there.

Remediate the System and Surroundings

Air handler areas, drain pans, surrounding drywall and framing, and affected ductwork are cleaned and treated.

Fix the Cause

Drainage, insulation, and humidity issues are addressed so the mold doesn't return the next cooling season.

Our HVAC Mold Remediation Proces

We inspect the whole system path: the air handler, drain pan and condensate line, the closet or mechanical room around it, and the ductwork. Moisture readings on nearby drywall and framing tell us how far the water has spread.
Then we set up containment, remediate the affected building materials, and clean or replace ductwork as needed. HEPA air scrubbers run throughout. Mechanical repairs to the system itself are coordinated with your HVAC contractor so both sides get fixed at the same time.We finish by addressing the humidity or drainage problem that started it. Otherwise you’re back where you started next summer. Documentation goes to your insurance carrier and we handle the billing.
