Where There's a Slow Leak, There's Usually Mold

A dripping supply line under the bathroom sink. A toilet seal that let go months ago. A pinhole in an old copper pipe inside the wall. None of these make much noise, and that’s the problem. By the time you notice a musty smell or a soft spot in the floor, the mold has had weeks or months of steady moisture to work with.
Quick Response Restoration is a licensed New York mold remediation contractor serving Saratoga County and the Capital Region. We don’t just wipe the surface. We open up the affected area, remove what’s contaminated, and dry the structure so the mold has no reason to come back.Mold from plumbing leaks is usually worse than it looks from the outside. A small patch on the baseboard often means a much larger colony on the back of the drywall or under the subfloor. That’s why the inspection comes first.

Our Restoration Process

Locate the Leak and the Mold

Moisture meters and thermal imaging find the source and every area the water and mold have reached.

Contain and Remove

Containment goes up, contaminated materials come out, and the area is cleaned and treated under negative air.

Dry and Rebuild

The structure is dried to normal moisture levels and our own crews repair the drywall, flooring, and cabinets.

How We Remediate Mold From a Hidden Leak

Step one is stopping the water. There’s no point remediating mold while the source is still feeding it. Once the plumbing is repaired, we set up containment with plastic sheeting and negative air machines so spores don’t spread through the rest of the house during the work.
Contaminated drywall, insulation, and cabinetry get bagged and removed. What stays gets HEPA-vacuumed, cleaned, and treated with an antimicrobial. Then drying equipment runs until the framing and subfloor are back to normal readings, and only after that do we rebuild. We maintain our New York State mold licensing, carry the right PPE, and train our crews on it. We also work with your insurance carrier and handle the documentation. It’s the safe way to do this, and it’s the only way we do it.
